2. About these terms
These terms apply when you purchase goods from petersfieldschoolwearcompany.com.
Please read them before placing an order. By submitting an order, you agree to these terms. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
You must be at least 18 years old to place an order through our website.
3. Products, images and sizing
We take reasonable care to ensure that product descriptions, photographs, colours, prices and availability are accurate. Colours and appearance may vary slightly according to lighting, photography and the screen being used.
School-uniform sizes can vary between manufacturers and garment types. Age labels are therefore only a guide. Please check the measurement information shown on the relevant product page and in our Size Guide before ordering.
Where supplier measurements are shown as flat garment measurements, they should be compared with a similar, well-fitting garment laid flat. They should not be compared directly with a measurement taken around the body.
Size charts are guides and supplier measurements may be subject to the tolerances stated on the relevant chart.
Schools can occasionally change their uniform requirements. Please check any current requirements issued by your child’s school before ordering.
4. Placing an order
After you submit an order, we will send an automated acknowledgement to the email address supplied at checkout. This confirms that we have received the order, but it does not necessarily mean that we have accepted it.
A contract is formed when we confirm that the order has been accepted or dispatched, or that it is ready for collection.
We may be unable to accept an order because:
- an item is unavailable;
- payment has not been authorised or received;
- product or pricing information contains an obvious error;
- delivery restrictions apply; or
- we reasonably suspect fraudulent or unauthorised activity.
If we cannot accept an order after payment has been taken, we will contact you and refund the amount paid.
Please check your contact, delivery and sizing information carefully before submitting your order. Contact us promptly if you notice an error.
5. Prices and payment
All prices are displayed in pounds sterling and include any applicable VAT.
Delivery charges, if applicable, are displayed before you place your order.
We accept the payment methods displayed at checkout, which may include debit or credit card, supported digital wallets and direct bank transfer.
Card and digital-wallet payments are processed securely through our payment provider. We do not receive or store your complete card details.
If you select direct bank transfer, your order will remain on hold until cleared payment is received. Payment instructions and the order reference will be included in your order confirmation. Please use the correct reference so that we can identify your payment.
6. Stock, backorders and availability
Stock information is updated regularly, but an item shown as available may occasionally become unavailable before an order is processed.
A product or variation marked Available on backorder can be purchased even though it is not currently held in stock. The estimated lead time will be displayed on the product page or during checkout.
Many backordered products may take up to ten working days, but some garments can have a different supplier lead time. The estimate shown for the particular product applies.
Delivery estimates are not guaranteed dates. If a supplier delay is likely to materially affect your order, we will contact you. You may cancel an undelivered backordered item for a full refund.
Products with an unsuitable or unconfirmed supplier lead time may be marked out of stock rather than offered on backorder.
If an item is out of stock, you can contact us for the latest availability. An enquiry does not reserve the item or guarantee that it will return by a particular date.
7. Delivery
We deliver using the delivery methods displayed at checkout.
Delivery is free when an order meets the qualifying threshold shown on the website and at checkout. The current advertised threshold is £120.
For orders below the qualifying threshold, the applicable charge will be displayed before payment.
Orders are normally sent using a tracked delivery service to the address supplied at checkout. The estimated delivery period will be displayed at checkout or confirmed with your order.
In-stock and backordered products may have different delivery estimates. Where an order contains both, we will tell you if this affects the expected delivery date or if we propose sending the order in more than one parcel.
We will deliver within 30 days of entering into the contract unless a different period has been agreed with you, including where you knowingly order an item with a stated backorder lead time.
Please ensure that the delivery address is complete and accurate. We are not responsible for delays caused by incorrect or incomplete information supplied by you, although we will try to help resolve them.
If goods are lost or damaged before delivery, please contact us promptly.
8. Local collection
Where local collection is offered at checkout, it is free of charge.
We will email you when your order is ready. Please do not travel to collect it until you have received that notification.
Please bring your order number and, where reasonably requested, proof of identity.
If an order is not collected within 28 days, we will contact you to arrange collection or another delivery method. Additional delivery charges may apply if you subsequently request postage.
9. Cancelling an online order
For most goods purchased online, you have the right to cancel without giving a reason.
The cancellation period ends 14 days after the day on which you, or a person nominated by you, receives the goods. If an order is delivered in separate parcels, the period ends 14 days after the final parcel is received.
To cancel, email sales@petersfieldschoolwearcompany.com or use the model cancellation form at the end of these terms. You do not have to use the form, but your message must clearly state that you wish to cancel.
If the order has already been dispatched, you must return the goods as described below.
10. Returning unwanted goods
After notifying us that you wish to cancel, you must return the goods within 14 days.
Please contact us before returning anything so that we can provide the correct return address and instructions.
You may handle and try on a garment as you would in a shop. Please return it clean and, where possible, with its original tags and packaging.
We may reduce a refund where handling beyond what is reasonably necessary has diminished the value of the goods.
Unless the goods are faulty, damaged or incorrect, you are responsible for the cost of returning them. We recommend retaining proof of postage.
We will refund the price paid and the cost of our least expensive standard delivery option. Any additional amount paid for an enhanced delivery service does not have to be refunded.
Refunds will be made within 14 days after we receive the returned goods or you provide evidence that they have been sent back, whichever occurs first. We will normally use the original payment method.
If you require a different size, please contact us. Depending on availability, we may arrange an exchange or ask you to return the original item and place a new order.
11. Personalised goods
The statutory right to cancel does not normally apply to goods made to your specification or clearly personalised for you, such as a garment customised with an individual name or initials.
This exception does not affect your rights if personalised goods are faulty, damaged, misdescribed or not produced according to the agreed specification.
A standard school-uniform garment bearing the school’s usual badge or crest is not treated as individually personalised merely for that reason unless it has been specially produced to your individual specification.
12. Faulty, damaged or incorrect goods
Goods must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality.
If an item arrives damaged, is faulty, has been misdescribed or is not what you ordered, contact us promptly with your order number and details of the problem.
Your rights may include a refund, repair or replacement depending on the circumstances and when the problem is reported. We will cover reasonable return costs where goods are faulty, damaged or supplied incorrectly.
Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
13. Responsibility for the goods
The goods become your responsibility when they are delivered to you, to a person nominated by you or collected by you.
Ownership passes to you once we have received payment in full.
14. Our responsibility to you
We are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of our breaching these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill.
We are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, for losses caused by information you supplied incorrectly, or for business losses arising from a consumer purchase.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
15. Website availability and external links
We aim to keep the website accurate and available, but we cannot guarantee that it will always operate without interruptions or errors.
Links to third-party websites are provided for convenience. We are not responsible for the content, availability or privacy practices of those websites.
16. Privacy
We process personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
We use order information to process payment, supply goods, communicate about the order and meet our legal obligations.
Marketing emails are sent only where the recipient has subscribed or another lawful basis applies. Marketing consent can be withdrawn at any time using the unsubscribe link in an email.
17. Complaints and contact
If you are unhappy with an order or our service, please contact:
Email: sales@petersfieldschoolwearcompany.com
Please include your order number where relevant. We will try to resolve the matter fairly and promptly.
18. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The terms that apply to an order are those made available when the order is placed.
19. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
If you live elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you retain any mandatory consumer protections provided by the law and courts of the part of the United Kingdom in which you live.
